In the words of Nick, purveyor of “sweet, sweet sounds” from his Fender Stratocaster and ESP LTD guitars:

“I was born and raised in Menomonee Falls, WI. I have been playing guitar my entire life but have been going strong with Wasaukee Road now for 11 years straight. I love anything with blues in it, and my influences are Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, as well as the Allman Bros. 

“I lived in Maine for eight years where I joined my first band, ‘The Poor Boys.’  After that band fell apart, my co-workers and I formed ‘The Recyclers,’ playing at parties and work functions. After moving back to my hometown, I hooked up with Jeff and Luke as a founding member of Wausaukee Road. I love being part of this band and the feeling when everything clicks!”

Luke Spanton

Drums, backing vocals

A native of Wausau, WI, Luke began his musical journey in college by learning some guitar chords. He then used those chords to write several songs, which he recorded with friend and guitar/bass whiz Bill Seymour. Luke played drums for the first time on one of those recordings, planting a seed that (finally) sprouted over twenty years later, when he bought his first drum kit.

His first band was “The Children,” with son Bill on bass. Soon after, Luke and Bill were instrumental in founding the band that became Wasaukee Road.

Luke’s musical faves span a wide range, including the Beatles, Eagles, Collective Soul, Plimsouls, Randy Travis, Hanson, Brad Paisley, Chris Isaak, and the Oneders (to name but a few). Ringo Starr and Gregg Bissonette are his main influences.

Luke plays a Roland TD-25KV electronic kit.
